Topic 651: "If a nation is to ensure its own economic success, it must maintain a highly competitive educational system in which students compete among themselves and against students from other countries." Discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the opinion stated above. Support your position with reasons and/or examples from your own experience, observations, or reading. | Score & Analysis Recently there has been much debate about whether a nation should maintain a highly competitive educational system to ensure its own economic success. It is quite thought-provoking indeed. The author's claim that if students compete among themselves and against students from other countries during their study period can they compete in the real worlds is a laudable claim, but ultimately a misleading one. Obviously the author unnecessarily narrows this broad issue to an irreversible extreme while overlooks other compelling factors. This proposition cannot sustain under closer examination. As the paragraphs to come will demonstrate my point of view. This essay has been rated a score of 6. Essays in this score category are not displayed to the public.
