I worked in Agilent Technologies Malaysia as an industrial trainee from September 2006 to December 2006. During my training session, I attached to Production Engineering department which is responsible on productivity and production of Agilent High Aimed Oscilloscopes. In order to gain working experience from Agilent Technologies, I took initiative to collaborate with Test Engineering department in developing a test process to improve the efficiency of their production lines. I did a GUI program on computer by using C#.NET language. My design had the capabilities to control (read and write accessibility) a power source device (Variable Power Source) among all the testing units (Agilent Products) through GPIB ports. All the information such as board details and test results could be stored into local database for future reference purposes. My design on this tool covered
1. Capturing the “Power On” status of products,
2. Noise analysis,
3. Power Source Simulation
4. Read and write access to the devices through computer graphic interface.
5. Pipeline process up to three units
6. Open and Close port (GPIB) for auto detection on testing units.
It was a good exposure for me in joining Agilent Technologies as an intern which brought me marvelous knowledge to my future research projects. After getting excellent achievements in my undergraduate studied, I joint Intel Corporation Malaysia immediately as a “Graduate Trainee Design Engineer” from 20-May-2008 onwards. I was trained to handle motherboard design related tasks which are including those “Bills of Materials” and several modules on board. I helped project leader in editing schematics, uploading materials, researching on component part usage, developing test tool and etc. Meanwhile, I was encouraged by manager to attend classes such as Verilog-HDL and computing related training to catch up the process of current project.

8. For the purpose of comparison with the measurements, I carried out the numerical simulations using the commercial FE package I-DEAS. I conducted the 2D and full 3D models based on standard 8- and 20-noded quadratic elements. I experienced the models taking into account the orientation of the layers and their stacking order. The symmetry of the plate and the loading conditions enable to model only a quarter of the plate. Due to the fact that the weave direction has four times as many fibers in the warp direction than in the weft direction, I considered the pepreg as unidirectional layer so that I modeled each layer as orthotropic material. For the 2D model, based on a first order shear deformation theory, the elastic constants of the homogenized shell are calculated by the FE software from the single-layer properties given. For the 3D model, I assigned single-layer material constants to each lamina, as well as the corresponding ply orientation and thickness. I chose one element per layer through all the plies except in the last lower four layers where I considered two elements per lamina since the strain behavior could be non-linear in this region. Considering all the Mother children previously mentioned aspects, 1600 and 32000 elements are counted within the entire volume for the 2D and 3D models, respectively. Different boundary conditions and loading configurations are considered within the project; namely (a) Mother children line supports and line load (LSLL), (b) line supports and point load (LSPL) and (c) 4-point supports and point load (4PSPL). The forces are applied to the centre of the structure and are distributed over the whole plate width for the line load and over an area of 4.4 mm2 for the concentrated load.
