Are there so much new and complex things today that the understanding of the past provides little guidance for living in the present? I agree that with the quickening development of the society, many things vary remarkbly and even somtimes beyond our understanding, and thereby the influence of the past on the present is weakened. Nevertheless, until the insightful research into the things' past, many of the present phenomena will not be fully recognized and certain present problems will not be fundamentally solved as well.
